维多利亚州护理公会通知,从2009年7月1日起维多利亚州将接受澳洲全国的护理统一标准,对所有的在海外培训学习的注册护士和助产士,需要新的英文要求如下:
1. 雅思单项4个7分或者OET英文护理考试单项不低于B。
2.考试必须是一次考试成绩满足完全要求,不可以几次考试累计。
3.考试成绩2年有效,从参加考试那天计算
4.另外在英国、美国、爱尔兰、加拿大和新西兰注册的护士也不再豁免语言考试,需要参加上述考试。
新的全国护士助产士公会总部将设在墨尔本。
从2010年起,全澳护士助产士公会将不再接受Certificate IV in Nursing作为申请登记护士的学历证书。申请登记护士必须完成护理大专学历才可以(Diploma of Nursing)
The Nurses Board of Victoria has advised that from 2010 they will no longer accept theCertificate IV in Nursingas a qualification for anEnrolled Division 2 Nurse.
Students who are studying Certificate IV in Nursing in July 2009 will be accepted by the Nurses Board, but after this intake, all students must study to the Diploma level.
From 1 July 2009 - Changes to the Board’s English Language Requirements
In a move towards a National standard for English language competence, the Board has accepted the following changes to the minimum standard of demonstrated English language required for the registration inVictoriaof nurses and midwives who have trained outsideAustralia:
1. ALLapplicants applying for registration who have undertaken their nursing education outsideAustralia, mustfrom 1 July 2009, demonstrate English language competence.
2. ALLapplicants required to demonstrate English language competence must achieve the prescribed test result as set out below:
- IELTS – Academic test: a score of at least7 inall four components of IELTS(Reading; Listening; Writing and Speaking) with an overall band score of at least 7;
- Occupational English Test (OET) – Nursing Version: aB pass or abovein all four sections.
3. Applicants must achieve the above scores at asingle test sittingand the test must have been completed within two (2) years.
4. The English Language Tests are only valid for two (2) years from the date of the test.
5. From 1 July 2009nurses and midwives who have undertaken their nursing education outside Australia AND have worked continuously in English as a registered nurse or midwife for a period of no less than twelve (12) months (which has occurred no more than six [6] months prior to the date of application) in either the United States of America, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Canada or New Zealandwill no longer be granted a waiver of the English language skills test.
